The Worldwide Lawyers Association (WOLAS) is committed to protecting children from harm. We believe that all children have the right to be safe and supported, and we are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for all children who come into contact with our organisation.
Child Safeguarding Policy sets out our commitment to protecting children from harm. It outlines our responsibilities to children, and the steps we will take to ensure their safety.
Our Responsibilities
WOLAS has a responsibility to:
- Protect children from all forms of harm, including physical, sexual, emotional, and psychological abuse.
- Create a safe and supportive environment for all children who come into contact with our organisation.
- Provide support and resources to children who have been harmed.
- Report any suspected child abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities.
Our Steps to Protect Children
WOLAS takes the following steps to protect children:
- Conduct regular training for all staff and volunteers on child safeguarding issues. This training will cover topics such as child development, child protection laws, and reporting procedures.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to protect children. These policies and procedures will be based on best practices and will be designed to prevent and respond to child abuse and neglect.
- Create a culture of openness and trust, where children feel comfortable reporting any concerns they may have. This will be done by providing children with multiple ways to report concerns, such as through a confidential hotline or a designated staff member.
- Ensure that all children have access to appropriate support and resources. This includes providing children with access to counseling, medical care, and other services that they may need.
- Report any suspected child abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities. This will be done promptly and in a way that protects the child’s safety.
WOLAS is committed to protecting children from harm. We believe that all children have the right to be safe and supported, and we are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for all children who come into contact with our organisation.
