The main purpose of the Legal Operations Unit is to make the necessary applications by using the International and/or Regional Human Rights Protection Mechanisms through the lawyer in the charge in the relevant country within WOLAS’ global network of lawyers, pursuant to the decision of the Board of Directors regarding the human rights violations reported by the Monitoring Unit.
For this purpose, first of all, the protection mechanisms that can be applied for the regions covered by the Monitoring Unit will be investigated and the Monitoring Unit will be informed about the application principles. Thus, it will be ensured that the reports from the Monitoring Unit comply with the procedures and principles of the protection mechanisms to be applied in the relevant region or at the international level.
